Edible uses of grapefruit They are Nature Kids and they are learning vital skills for resilience, compassion and future problem solving through our ecological unschooling approach. We grow a lot of vegetables, herbs and fruit in the polycultural garden-playground surrounding our home. Our income is derived from permaculture-related activities. Make grapefruit facial toner – squeeze the grapefruit, place into a jar with water, add fresh chopped herbs (select your favourite, eg:lavender, rosemary, thyme, sage, mint…).Grapefruit, honey, cinnamon tea helps to soothe coughs and is a great night-time tea.Make grapefruit butter (use same recipe as typical lemon butter but replace the lemon with grapefruit).Bake a grapefruit poppy seed cake (I’ll post this recipe soon) or add zest to shortbread biscuit mix (yumm). ![]()
